Webinar: Ethical blindness

Internal Auditors play a critical role in providing independent and objective assurance for their organisations, all that by adhering to the highest standards of integrity and ethical behaviour.

The IIA Global Standards give clear guidelines about what are expectations by internal auditors to adhere to such ethical standards, however reality often is all but easy. Internal Auditors must navigate through grey zones and sometimes may face ethical pitfalls in their decision making. One of the reasons of such pitfalls are our ethical “blind spots” – doing the right thing might sound simple in theory, but in practice our ethical reasoning could be “blinded” by the circumstances. This 60 minute webinar equips you with an understanding of the concept of ethical blind spots, practical examples of where ethics can be at stake in internal audit, requirements for internal auditors to uphold ethical standards, and tips for ethical decision-taking for effectively navigating ethical dilemmas.

Speaker: Ursula Schmidt: 2023 and 2024 Internal Audit Beacon award recipient, Internal Audit & Compliance Advisor, Board Member, Speaker & Author
